It's a deal! pt. 2

No niin. Hihat on valmiina! Tässä vaiheessa ideat poukkoilee vielä päässä, ja ohjetta on kirjoitettu jopa kaksin kappalein. Olen neulonut tämän kappaleen jo kolmeen kertaan. Ensimmäinen versio oli liian tiukkaa, huomasin kun hihaa oli neulottu kainaloon saakka. Puikkokoon uudelleen arviointi ja uutta hihaa puikolle.

Kun olin päässyt jo kainalon ja pääntien ohi seuraavalle kainalolle, huomasin että paidasta tulee kolmanneksen liian leveä. Ja taas purkamaan. Nyt istuu jo hyvin. Mutta vielä tässä vaiheessa olen ihan pihalla siitä miltä alaosa tulee näyttämään.

Nokka kohti tuulta ja eteen päin, kyllä se siitä sitten hahmottui...

So far so good. The sleeves ar ready. And I'we started to writ the pattern, two of them actually. The first attempt of a sleev was too tight. I had knitted up to the first armpit when I come to that conclusion! Well... adjusting the needle size took care of that and I started from the beginning. Knitted up to the armpit, through the neckline and to the other armpit just to realize that the cardi was one third too big! But after ripping and reknitting I got the upper top and other sleeve done.

At this point I was still unsure how the bottom part was going to look like. But nose to the wind and onwards!

Sisko oli tehny pojalleen hienon hupparin jossa oli hiippahuppu <3 Haluan samanlaisen! Mutta en osaa ommella.

Sisko oli myös ostanut kassillisen kasvivärjättyjä lankoja (kuvassa) jotka puhuivat mulle heti ja valmis neule näky jo silmieni edessä. Ainoa vaatimus oli että pitää olla nappeja. No problem!

Tehtiin diili ja minä lähdin Tampereelle kassillinen lankoja kainalossa.

Nappeja odottelen Aasiasta.

Nyt vaan odottelen uutta hupparia ja neulon villapaitaa.

My sister hade made this cool hoodie to her son and I wanted one alike. The thing that made it cool was the hood, it was pointy <3 Sadly I can't sew :(

My sis has also bought a sack of hand-dyed yarns (in the pic.) that spoke to me right away! I immediately saw the design and finished cardi with my mind's eye :)

So we made a deal and I left with a sack of yarns with me. Only demand from her was that she wanted buttons. And buttons she'll get!

So now I just sit and knit, and wait for my hoodie.

A Design-story

This is a story of how a design comes to be. One of them.

First there was a couple of bucks on my paypal account and a lovely coloured yarn on eBay. The color was followed by lovely materials, cashmere, silk, soy, wool. All natural.

One weeks waiting and I got to see and FEEL my new yarn for the first time. The weight of the yarn scared the crap out of me, I thought that that poor skein would never become anything in my hands. But what can you do with a lace weight and 4 to 5 mm's needles? Well a lacy shawl!

Browsing trough Ravelry's pattern databease and can't find just the pattern I want. After tousands of patterns and pictures I give up and just pick up my needles and cast on. Come what may.
