Mielitekoja - wannado

Viime viikkoina on tehnyt mieli värjätä. Haluaisin tehdä Baktuksen mutta sopivan väristä lankaa ei ole tullut vastaan.

Lately I've wantong to so some dying. I'd like to knit Baktus but haven't found the perfect yarn yet :(

Neuloin nämä T:n veljelle T.3:lle 18 vuotis lahjaksi. 4mm:n sukkapuikoit, 7 veljestä lanka. Kynsikkäät joissa huppu peukalolle ja muille sormille. Olen näitä nähnyt ennenkin, mutta en peukalohupulla. Päästin siis tehdä hupun siihenkin, koska muuten lapasissa ei tuntunut olevan mitään järkeä, ote ei pitäisi. Pistin lapaset eilen postiin, toivottavasti ovat pian perillä, ovat mieluiset ja tulevat käyttöön :)

I knitted these hooded mitts for T's (T being my BF) brothers 18th birthday. 4mm dpb's and aran weight yarn. I've seen these kind of mittens before, but never with a open thumb. Thought that there's no point in the mitts if the thumb were closed, (the grip wouldn't hold) so I put a hood there too. He should get them by now, I sent him them yesterday. Hope he likes them and putts them to use.

Kankaanpainantaa - Textile printing

Se ei ole suomileijona, eikä myöskään tervaleijona askisa. Se on auton konepellistä. Valkoisella pohjalla koevedos, vihreä on topin alatakamus.

Osallistuin kaksi päiväiselle kankaanpainanta kurssille. Kivaa oli. Opeteltiin painamaan kuvia kankaaseen perunalla, sipulilla, tuputtamalla, sabluunalla ja seulalla sekä rakennettiin sellainen. Sille tulee varmasti olemaan vielä paljon käyttöä, pää pursuaa ideoita.

Painoin muitakin kuvioita, mutta niistä myöhemmin, kun löydän kamerani.

I took a course in textile printing. I learned to print with potatoes and onions, stencil and screen-printing. I also made my self a screen, and I'll be using it a lot in the future, I got ideas you know :)

I did print other things too, but I misplaced my camera and refuse to use crapy camera on my phone, so you just have to be patient ;)

Knotty gloves

Viimeisimpänä valmistuneet Julia Mueller:n Knotty Gloves. Oma käsialani on sen verran löysää että tarvittava neuletiheys löytyi vasta kun silmukkamäärä oli pudotettu 60:stä 48:aan, tosin nämä ovat kokoa S eikä M niinkuin alkuperäisessä ohjeessa. Nämä lähtivät tänään T:n äidille syntymäpäivälahjaksi.

Tänään olin siskonpojan nimijuhlassa jossa tuli lahjottua pikkusisko Chevron Rib Tank:lla ja otettua vastaan muutamia joululahjatoiveita. Lapaset olivat kysyttyjä ja toivomuksena sellaiset joista toinen pari ei mene hukkaan :)

I finished Julia Muellers Knotty Gloves. My gauge was a bit off compered to the original pattern, instead of beginning with 60 sts for size M, I had to use 48 sts to get down to size S. These went to T's mother as her birthday gift.

I also gave my lil' sister The Chevron Rib Tank, as her b-day present. She turned 11 last month.

As I was meeting with the rest of my family I got tha change to ask what they wish for christmas. Almost every one wanted mittens, and some wanted those kind that won't loose the other one :) How to manage that, I don't know...

Huomenna kotiin - Home tomorrow

Lauantaiksi pitäis saada neulottua 3 syntymäpäivälahjaa kotipuoleen. Yksi on kyllä jo melko loppusuoralla, mutta kaksi muuta vasta suunnitteluvaiheessa. Ei mitään isoa, joten voi olla että jopa kerkeän. Saan neuloa autossa :)

Going home this weekend and I have 3 birthday gifts to knit before Saturday. One is almost finished, but two is only in a planing/designing stage. Nothing big, I think I'll manage. And I get to knit in the car :)
